Position Overview

Our client in Kamloops is looking for an individual who is mature, reliable, experienced in full-cycle accounting, has an outstanding proficiency in MicroSoft Excel and is capable of taking on a challenge with confidence and making it work. You are someone who can wear many hats, has a lot of patience, is very organized and pays very close attention to detail. You are a quick learner and ready to assume and manage this very busy and multi-faceted Prince George position for a maternity leave duration which could turn into permanent.

 

You have proven Safety Management experience or qualifications.

 

You would be the Accounting Administrator in Prince George assisting the Kamloops Management team’s financial day to day operations remotely. The successful candidate will have a lot of energy, strong communication skills and able to work in a team environment.

 

This is a Monday to Friday 8 hour per day position with some starting at 7 a.m. and others starting at 8:30. Overtime is not extensive and will be compensated as certain deadlines such as sub pay must be met and OT will be expected if necessary to complete.

 

You will be required to have your own vehicle to do banking and will be reimbursed based on the CRA km rate.

 

Those individuals who have certified accounting designations or very experienced full-cycle accounting backgrounds as well as experience in the logging industry and have a strong command of administrative functions as well, would be considered for this well-paying position.

Responsibilities This remote office handles the subcontractors pay which is a very detailed production pay process done every two weeks. Payments equal approximately half to one million dollars each two weeks. This individual would also be responsible for the organization of the Safety Management system in the Prince George area. This company is audited each year by the forest safety council and the records needs to complete and organized. You would be managing several companies accounting ledgers and moving comfortably between them. This person reports to the PG Operations Manager and the Supervisors (they are generally in the bush). The Clerk reports directly to the Controller but supports the Operations Manager.

Requirements The successful candidate has strong communication skills and is able to work in a team environment.

 

You have proven Safety Management experience or qualifications.

 

A must have for this position to succeed is to have outstanding MicroSoft Excel skills, be fluent in formulas and creating spreadsheets. MicroSoft Word strengths will also be needed to produce memo’s and business documents and letters.

 

You will be using a software program called Logger’s Edge, which if you know it, will prove to be an asset, however, if you have worked with other such software programs, you will likely pick this up easily. This software, Suzi Loggers, create virtual timecards and data collection units. This individual will be running these units in Prince George. If you do not know this software, you will be trained, but should already be comfortable with computerized systems in order to learn it.

 

You have strong analytical, time management and organizational skills which are also key to this position.

 

You will need your own vehicle (banking) and will be reimbursed based on the CRA km rate.
