Ranch Accountant

Family office based in Idaho Falls, Idaho has a new position in its management group.  We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining accounting, reporting and operational record-keeping processes for all cattle, horse and farming activities.  The right person will be a resourceful problem-solver and team player who thrives in a high-pressure environment.  A minimum of 2-4 years of financial management experience is required.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of general ledger

• Maintenance of cattle, horse and farm records such as genetics, breeding, inventory and location of livestock

• Accounts payable

• Accounts receivable

• Cash management

• Provide support to management for budgeting & valuations

• Joint Venture accounting

• Assist management in operation of joint ventures and accountability of joint venture partners

• Process documentation and suggestions for enhancements to processes and controls

• Assist in horse and cattle auctions by receiving payments or otherwise supporting the sales

Reporting deliverables include:

• Monthly financial statements for individual entities or divisions for review by management

• Periodic requests by management and owner for information

• Routine financial packages for lenders or joint venture partners
