Intermediate Accounting Clerk - Job ID 2209 - CHASE, BC

Position Overview 
A busy organization located about 30 minutes drive outside of Kamloops is hiring your next role, as their Intermediate Accounting Clerk.

This organization has been on a growth path in recent years, and there is potential for advancement within the company. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for preparing and booking journal entries, payroll, accounts receivable, balance sheets, account reconciliation and aiding internal audits and detailed accrual analysis.

Other responsibilities may be assigned. As the ideal candidate, you will have at least 5 years of accounting experience and will possess or be close to completing your accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA). You will need to be proficient with MicroSoft Office Programs and Adagio.

The main duty of this full-cycle accounting role is to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of the entries in the general ledger including; payables, cheques, journal entries and bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations.
Maintain general ledger structure.
Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
Preparation of audit working papers and assist in quarterly reviews and year end audit.
Assist in the completion of month-end and quarter-end consolidated financial statements and notes
Assist in preparation of regulatory fillings
Assist with analysis/reporting: provide additional schedules/analysis of accounts as needed; assist with internal project expenditure reporting
A/P, EFT and cheques (after cheque runs).
A/P function when required.
Prepare T4s and T4As at year end.
File GST and make other remittances to CRA
Assist in special projects, reporting and other duties as assigned by the Controller or
Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.


We are seeking an experienced Accounting Professional with:

Certificate in accounting, or level 2 or 3 CGA student
Minimum 5 years experience in accounting, preferably with a Local Government or large to mid-sized company.
Competency with accounting software (Adagio preferred).
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to details, ability to multi-task, highly organized, computer literate.
Skilled in data entry, 10-key, typing, filing and general office skills.

Must have a valid driver's license as this position is located 30 minutes outside of Kamloops.
