When : nov - friday 2009
Where: asby ave and college ave bus stop in front of cafe. Running on college ave.
Who: ac transit black female age 30-to 40s
What: bus 51 heading towards oakland at 1:18 pm afternoon time. Bus #1102
The bus says out of service on the sign yet there are passengers riding.
She stops at the bus stop and opens both rear and front doors, looks staright ahead and waits for awhile , in the pouring rain i notice there are passengers and figure it was ok to board, so i decide to enter the bus and am told that the bus is not in service, i told her she has passengers and that i should get to ride. She rudley tells me to get off her bus and i tell her to call someone because she is not doing her job and she gets really angry with an attitude starts calling her supervisor or someone about one passenger in the rain wont get off her bus.
She may have had a reason for doing this procedure but she could have let one passenger ride the bus after the fact i was allready on and her doors were open. Most drivers in this situation would be friendly as most ac transit drivers are and just say ok its raining dont worry about it. But not this driver who obviously has a bone to pick with her job she is dissatisfied with. The bus was about 38 pecent filled with plenty of seats available near the door and else where. If i was a senior or a person of color i bet i wouldnt have recieved an earful, but im not going to go there too much as i think i made a point allready.
Is this driver and other drivers, involved in some sort of psy- ops on the american public? or are they acting like jackasses independently?
That may seem a bit extreme but im going to throw it out there becuase it would explain why some of the drivers do this type of odd behavior as well as leave people when the bus is not full.
Of course if im way off i can always retract the statement and correct it if i was wrong, but a good public consensus is in order here i think. Exposing this type of behavior on a public forum is a good way to fix the problem as no one wants to be exposed to public scrutiny if your doing things wrong.
Its also a community service by the way , becuase they will be more carefull not to treat others in this manner.
Its probably not a crime to deliberately do a lousy job at the work place from time to time, but as a passenger who recieves this type of treatment and has to wait for the next bus, its not fun.
I did ask the driver who arrived a few minutes behind her why they would do this with the bus and they were just as puzzled as i was. They viewed the bus ahead on college ave stopping at bus stops and they were perplexed as to what she was doing with the bus. I asked another driver about the situation later and they said it sounded like they were doing something they were not suppossed to and that i should have got the i.d number of the bus on the outside. Oh i did. Its - # 1102
Unbelievable. This might have been the same driver or another, around 9:15 ish in the morning , wouldnt drive her bus on schedule becuase she did not get adequate time to take her break.
The result of that? The driver behind her took her route and kept driving without a break, i saw it. Your one lazy driver with an attitude to boot, and should not be in a public service position at all. I told you id put you on craigslist, next time i'll get your photo and put you on youtube. Perhaps you could ask your supervisor for a little down time or early vacation. It may be helpful for you but i kind of doubt it.
