Hello,
I have been working on an idea to start a strength training club for three months now. I just relocated to Montreal a few weeks ago. Now that I am unemployed and am spending more time on the project, I have come to the realization that this is a much bigger endeavour than I had initially imagined. I am also finding it difficult to get started in a city where I have not yet settled in and made new friends and contacts, etc.
I am looking for a partner to help bring this idea into realization. This is a very serious project for me, one that I have spent countless hours planning. Although I want to stick close to the original idea, I am willing to be flexible.
…………….
The Idea:
The Strength Vault is a strength training club located in Montreal. Rather than try to compete with large commercial gyms, it specializes in general strength training activities and offers a more community feel training environment. Equipment is made up of free weight for the most part and includes special pieces of equipment such as sandbags, sleds, an Olympic lifting platform, etc. A strong emphasis is placed on building a club and having regular members who know each other well. The space will not be too large in order to minimize start-up costs and member recruitment.
The Partner:
-self-confident (but not arrogant)
-mature and realistic (but still open minded and optimistic)
-good personality/attitude (no problems with greed or envy)
-knowledge in fitness (especially strength training)
-entrepreneurial
-independent
-any useful credentials especially related to fitness or business
-preferably young or does not have a problem taking young people seriously
-lot’s of skills and abilities that will best complement mine (to further discuss)
……………
In the past, I did not believe in partnerships but I suspect that in rare cases an ideal match can do extremely well. This will be a full time commitment and huge undertaking. Start-up capital will have to be acquired from banks or investors. I am interested in a 50/50 deal but willing to consider other options. If interested, there’ll be tons of discussing to do so let’s get started. Please tell me about yourself in the email.
