Dear Friends- I hope you will support me in my walk for Sarah's Maternity Home walk. This an awesome cause. I am a Sarah's House Graduate. When I got pregnant with Catelyn I had been a RN for 10 yrs and I got into an unexpected bind. I had just recently moved back to Austin for Amarillo with my nursing agency. It didnt work out for me and Catelyn's dad. I found out I was pregnant after we had already broken up. I was put on a nursing case with a little girl that was disabled because the doctor did not get her out in time during delivery. I was going to work everyday and trying to take care of this infant and I was crying through out the shift because I was so afraid this was going to happen to my baby. I could not do the job. The only other cases available were with kids that were too heavy for me to lift being pregnant. I was living at the Ramada because I had not decided were I wanted to live. With not being able to work with the baby, I was starting to run low on money(my last $20.00). I called my first small group leader from the church and he started looking around and came across Sarah's Maternity House. What a blessing....and they had a bed open! I lived there for 8 months and worked for Great Hills Baptist Church in the daycare. I also worked full-time has a nanny to save money. This was the first time in my life I really experience God's love ..... from complete stranger's that just loved me, ministered to me and her dad, and did not judge me. I can't sing enough praises about this ministry!! And could never put in words my gratitude to them for helping me and Catelyn when I didnt see a way. Jeannine Floors is the director. She got pregnant has a teenager and placed her daughter Sarah up for adoption. After that she knew put God it on heart to help other's in her situation. She is an amazing Women of God!! She continues on with her calling despite her having to have a brain tumor remove recently. It is the only maternity home in the area.
