Barbie as WONDER WOMAN designed by Sharon Zuckerman Mint ~ NRFB! This item is for Barbie as WONDER WOMAN (Barbie Collectibles doll) -- originally produced in 1999 as a Collector Edition and part of the Pop Culture Collection. As you can see in the photos, this doll is in mint condition. Never removed from her box. She has been part of my personal collection. Very Hard to Find! Thousands of years ago, the goddesses on Mt. Olympus created the Amazons to bring their wisdom to humanity. The daughter of the queen was WONDER WOMAN, endowed with special gifts and powers from the gods. A superb athlete and warrior, she became the Amazon's ambassador from their island home to Man's World after besting her fellow Amazons in an epic contest. When Captain Steve Trevor crash-landed on the island, WONDER WOMAN accompanied him to the war-torn outside world. Her secret identity as Diana Prince enabled her to live with humans and fight for freedom and truth. Created by William Moulton Marston and colorfully drawn by H.G. Peter, Wonder Woman first appeared in the December 1941 issue of All Star Comics. Marston, a psychologist and inventor of the lie detector, thought that comic books lacked positive female heroes. So he invented Wonder Woman and a world where girls would be comfortable. Wonder Woman was popular immediately. A strong female figure, Wonder Woman has stood for peace as an alternative to violence and for female empowerment long before such notions were common. From the first issue of her own Wonder Woman book to TV and film, Wonder Woman, like other true heroes of mythic beginnings, is the eternal hero.
