Turn-key opportunity to own and operate a media company currently serving the South
Asian Community in Canada.

start-up digital media company with uncapped potential and financial gain.
Naach Radio is a digital radio station targeting South Asian in Canada. Naach Radio is
perfectly positioned at a time and place for the right entrepreneur/team to invest and see
it excel in the media/radio industry.
Canada is a growing country based on immigration. Their immigration friendly polices
ensures a growing South Asian Community in Toronto (and Canada).
Currently South Asians are the biggest visible-minority group in the Greater Toronto
Area. There were 684,000 as of the 2006 census. Their numbers are expected to nearly
triple by 2031, reaching around 2.1 million. By that time, a Statistics Canada report
indicated, close to one in four people in the Toronto area will be of South Asian
Corporate and mainstream advertisers in Canada (most of whose offices are based in
Toronto) not only appreciate Canada’s changing and diverse population – but are
actively engaged in reaching out to ethnic communities. This year Marketing Magazine
held the 5th annual multicultural marketing conference in Toronto, which clearly
indicated a vast interest from a large number of corporate brands eager to learn and
reach out to ethnic communities. Not only are more brands incorporating ethnic
campaigns into their marketing strategies, but companies who already reach out to
ethnic communities are more often increasing their annual budgets as they witness a
fruitful return on their investment.
Currently, Naach Radio sells adverting space in the form of audio ads (usually 30
seconds and provided by the advertiser) and also banner space on their home page.
Naach Radio plays a mixture of Bhangra, Bollywood and Top 40 music. Our presenters
deliver their shows in English. Currently there is no other dedicated radio station in
Canada that the Station is in direct competition with. The new owner may keep the
existing format or chose to broadcast in any language and/or add any new shows with no
Naach Radio was incorporated in April 2009. At which time the current owners chose to
custom built a studio. Currently the studios/office is located in downtown Toronto.
(Carlton and Jarvis). Office includes area for admin staff. Separate room for audio
recording /production. Separate room for broadcast. Small 2 piece washroom and small
kitchenette. The rental is a very reasonable at approximately $1000 a month. There are no
commitments for new business owner to stay at this office. The new business owner
may choose to move operations to another location or stay.
Currently there are 8 contract staff members (no payroll commitments) who are trained to
produce their own shows. There are no commitments with the current show hosts to for
them to continue with the station. The new owners will be able to decide whether they
wish to continue the current show on or not.
Since inception, Naach Radio has built a strong brand identity, community ties and
established itself in the South Asian Media industry. The station has strong ties with
community event organizers who Naach Radio collaborates with each year to crosspromote
business. Last year Naach Radio organized a success invite-only cocktail event
where South Asian advertising agencies, artists and members of the South Asian Media
industry were invited. Establishing ourselves as a strong brand within our industry, and
respected brand as the event was very well received.
Currently, our revenue/campaigns have been generated from corporate brands.
Typically, a radio station would generate 70% sales from local businesses and 30% from
national/mainstream. There is great potential and uncapped revenue generation
opportunity here when also reaching out to local businesses (lawyers, restaurants,
realtors). So far, Naach Radio’s advertiser include brands such as TELUS, ROGERS,
BMW, BANK OF MONTREAL amongst others.
New content, the Station has established ties to all major labels who send the station
music/content/press releases as and when they became available. Detailed information
on music content and distribution will be provided to the new owner.
Asking Price: $199,000.
? VERY LOW OPERATING COST: Our total Operating cost for the business in 2012
was approximately $73, 000. In 2013, it will be even lower as Naach Radio since
then has tweaked and streamlined operations.
? UNCAPPED SALES POTENTIAL: Naach Radio has been generating revenue from
April 2012. Total revenue from advertising in 2012 was $33,000. Revenue
generation came from external enquires. Currently there is no sales staff. Having a
sales team, would dramatically sales and return would be instantly realized as the
brand is already established. Unlike terrestrial station, there are no limitations on
where the adverts are from (Canadian or Otherwise), how many adverts are aired
or even the duration of an advert
? PHYSICAL ASSETS: Included in the asking price is all existing office fixtures
(tables, chairs etc) Telephone line set up (software and hardware). All the software
and hardware in the broadcast studio (details available upon request) as well as
the production studio is included. Plus all professional DJ equipment/setup. If the
new business owner choses to use existing location, kitchen appliances and 3 AC
units are also included. All equipment is top of the range and in excellent working
order. No upgrades would be required a minimum of next 5 years. In summary, No
additional investment of time/money is required, it is set up so that the new owner
can start business from the very first day.
? OTHER ASSETS: Major assets also included in the price include all URL(s) and
web solutions (player on Flash and rest of the website on Word-press, currently
hosted on Hawkhost – and paid for another 6 months). Developers license from
Apple Inc to develop a iphone app for the radio station. Brand logos. All existing
marketing materials (Vinyl banners/ Vinyl media wall/ media kit/ Celeb photos with
logo/studio etc). Station Jingles/ID and audio imaging. Hard drive with existing
song library. .
? GOODWILL: Current owners have heavily invested time and money into branding
the station. Investment into SEO (Search Engine Optimization. If one was to
