Currently we are in need of an Earthwork Estimator in the Inland Empire. The following are the MINIMUM requirements:

CALTRANS HEAVY HIGHWAY EXPERIENCE A MUST*********************

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience.
2. Caltrans earthwork experience a must.
3. 5 or more years estimating, project management experience.
4. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Primavera Scheduling software.
5. Basic principles of civil engineering
6. Basic principles of structure excavation/backfill construction
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
8. Team player

Standard duties include:

This position is responsible for developing accurate and timely estimates for public works projects including the preparation of bid documents and the development of clearly written proposals and correspondence for jobs to ensure company is a responsive bidder.

*Manage Project after award of project.
*Provide cost estimates for upcoming projects as well as analyze and compile data on each factor that may have an influence on cost,
such as labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and any other cost affecting the project.
*Review drawings and specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations and include in final project estimate.
*Perform quantity “take-offs”
*Present estimate/bid to Chief Estimator for review to ensure accuracy and completeness including assessing market opportunities, competition and owner relations.
*Participate in estimate and bid review with Management.
*Working independently or with an estimating team, undertakes mathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processes, in order to ensure estimated costs are accurate.
*Analyze, interpret and compare detailed and often inadequately defined information in order to make reliable and accurate conclusions.
*Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings.
