The Creative Web Developer will be responsible for contributing to the daily XHTML production of the Nordstrom.com website, bug fixes, creation of new features, and HTML emails. This position will work closely with other creative web developers in developing final XHTML, HTML and JavaScript code for all front-end development of the Nordstrom.com web site and HTML emails. The position reports to the Creative Web Development Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop clean and structured HTML 4.0, XHTML 2.0, CSS and JavaScript code for front-end design projects Work with producers, editors, designers, back-end web developers and IT to develop and implement projects Prioritize daily workflow and demands on quality, time, and resources Ability to function well in a high-stress, high-volume, fast-changing work environment and the ability to work on multiple time-critical issues Troubleshoot and fix website, HTML email and content management issues within the scope of the position Meet development objectives and deadlines QUALIFICATIONS: 2+ years professional experience in HTML 4.0/ XHTML 2.0 2+ years professional experience in JavaScript 1+ years in developing front-end code for database driven commercial Web sites Demonstrated proficiency in graphics production and optimization for the Web using Adobe Photoshop and Image Ready Sound problem solving, technical troubleshooting, negotiating, and decision-making skills are crucial Ability to multitask, works well under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to work efficiently in a multi-user development environment Knowledge of standards-based design and mark-up Knowledge and use of bug control systems Knowledge and use of version control systems Experience developing in a server-side scripting/programming language a plus (VBScript/ASP, ASP.Net/C#, PHP or Perl) Experience developing in Flash and ActionScript a plus The above information on this definition has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
