JOB SUMMARY: Adjunct faculty are employed as instructors as needed for specific courses. They are considered to be temporary employees and may or may not be continuously employed quarter to quarter depending on need. Adjunct faculty members generally teach one or two courses per term (or the clinical equivalent) depending upon class enrollments and credit hours associated with the course. Adjunct faculty are not eligible for promotion and are not required to serve on committees, attend meetings except for faculty meetings, develop curriculum or advise students unless specifically compensated for the duty.
