The Duke Athletics Open Door Initiative is designed to provide ethnic minorities with an opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in intercollegiate athletics. Students who participate in this eight week unpaid program will have the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and work in various levels of the athletic department. The knowledge gained and experience received from this program could potentially lead to future opportunities in intercollegiate athletics post-graduation.

Program Highlights: 1.Selected participants will have the opportunity to assist in the day to day operations of a major Division I Athletics Department2. Opportunity to select two areas to focus on during the eight week program 3.Bi-weekly professional development opportunities with various athletic department personnel 4.Weekly lunch meetings with Duke University and Athletics Senior Administrators 5.Apartment style housing will be provided for selected participants
