Olympus House JOB DESCRIPTION Foster Parent I. POSITION TITLE -- Foster Parent II. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR-- Case Manager III. ABOUT THE AGENCY Olympus House Inc. is a not for profit child placing agency that provides services in foster home settings for dependent, abused, neglected children or children who have other needs that preclude them from staying the their families. Driven by therapeutic recreational little league programs, we concentrate on sportsmanship, teamwork, attitude and respect as a means of treatment and education. IV. INITIAL BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Be interested in providing temporary care for children 25 years of age or older Valid Texas drivers license GED, high school diploma or higher Single, married, or divorced Have adequate space for a child Have an income adequate for own family/to be financially stable Own or rent adequate housing Have adequate transportation Good physical and mental health Ability to pass background check V. DUTIES Provide daily care and nurturing for children in foster care Be actively involved with the schools and in any therapy program the youth may need Inform children's caseworkers about adjustments to the home, school, and community, as well as any problems that may arise, including any serious illnesses, accidents, or serious occurrences involving the foster children or their own families Make efforts as team members with children's caseworkers towards reunifying children with their birth families Provide a positive role model to birth families and children Help children learn life skills Transport the youth to and from all activities and appointments.
