Heap of Love, “Chili”, is a 2007 Jockey Club registered Thoroughbred mare that is suitable for an intermediate rider but has a great amount of potential for the more experienced rider. She is amazingly sane for a young Thoroughbred. Chili was bred for racing, but never set foot on the track. I’m regretfully selling her because I no longer have the amount of time to work with her that she needs.
Chili leg yields, backs, turns on the forehand and haunches, and will go on the bit and the walk and trot. She has been started over fences and has been ridden at 2’ under saddle and free jumped with ease over 4’. Chili is green over fences, but is a confident jumper and keeps an even pace to the jumps.
She has also been ridden in a western saddle, but has not yet been trained to neck rein. I have taken her on a handful of trail rides, but always with another experienced horse and in an area she was familiar with. She can be spooky at times.
Chili will load into a roomy stock trailer, but will put up a fight when asked to load into a two horse. This is her biggest fault and can be an issue. This has been reflected in her price.
Chili has current coggins and is up to date on vaccinations and farrier work and stands well for both. She has been barefoot her entire life. She will crosstie, enjoys baths, and has no problem with having her mane pulled. She is a very easy keeper, and currently lives in a pasture. She has been kept with both mares and geldings, and generally falls in the middle of the hierarchy.
This is a nicely bred mare with a ton of potential both under saddle and possibly as a broodmare. She is out of Doe Rae E and King of the Heap.
She is available to an excellent home only. Don’t miss this great opportunity at just $1,300.
