My name is America Alaniz and I am currently the Coordinator for the Bilingual Crisis Intervention Training for Peace Over Violence formerly known as Los Angeles Commission on Assault Against Women. We are currently seeking Bilingual (Spanish) volunteers/interns to be crisis counselors. Our training is an 85 hour training; which consists of lectures, activities, and interactive discussions designed to provide volunteer counselor-advocates with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to hotline calls and in-person accompaniments for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse. Training presenters and facilitators include multi-disciplinary professionals, experienced volunteers, survivors, and Peace Over Violence staff.
Training days will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30p.m-9:30p.m and Saturdays from 9:00a.m-5:00p.m. For more information I can be reach at (213)955-9090 ext. 136. Thank you for your time.
