This kick type sod cutter is the handiest tool ever for removing grass for new veggie gardens, flower beds or planting shrubs and trees. It is really very easy to use and works great. I am woman and I could use it without any problems. I bought this last fall and used it one time to make a couple of flower beds. I have been very sick this year and off from work a lot and need to downsize to make ends meet. I paid $299 for it plus the shipping cost. It is practically brand new still and has been garage kept. I have included some stock photos of it so that you can see how it works. You can go to NorthernTool.com to learn more. I have also included an article from the internet below. Thanks for looking. ARTICLE FROM INTERNET
The kick type sod cutters are seldom seen in stores. They can sometimes be rented. I bought one two years ago and never looked back. It is very useful for removing a sodded area of any size, and is also useful for removing sod for a trench. Anybody who has removed sod with a spade or the like of can appreciate this simple sod cutting tool.
The sod is easier to handle when the ground is wet. The kick sod cutter tool makes the job easy. Making a small gardening bed, or planting a tree or, shrub is very easy
The sod is torn up into small chunks and put through a yard machine and re-worked into the bed. The sod cannot be soaking but normal moisture is fine, since it will go through the yard machine without jamming. If too dry it creates too much dust. The yard machine effectively destroys the grass roots and absolutely no grass came up during the growing season.
