Are you tired of a routine office job with no daily challenges? If so, we are looking for a Paralegal/Office Manager for a small, but very busy elder law and disability advocacy firm. In this position, you will have daily contact with a client base of elderly people who need legal services delivered to them in a timely, compassionate and friendly manner. The two attorneys who work in this office are very busy and they rely heavily on work being completed by their paralegal. We are located right on the outskirts of the Hill in a small neighboorhood office. Shopping at Target or taking a walk over the lunch hour is a huge perk.
Duties include: Routine office responsiblities (answering telephone, attorney correspondence, client intake/file management, office supply management, management of attorney calendars), marketing of firm’s services (firm events, website/social media updates, promotional planning), billing/bookkeeping (accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation of accounts, bill generation, tax payments), assistance with probate cases (guardianship/conservatorship, estate administration, fiduciary litigation), estate planning (preparation of estate planning documents: powers of attorney, special needs trusts, wills, trusts) and Medicaid applications (generating Medicaid plans, file compilation and follow-up).
Experience with Microsoft Office and Time Matters is a MUST. Experience with PC Law is PREFERRED. The potential candidate must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must also be willing to build client relationships and be patient, thoughtful and kind to the clients we serve. Please submit your resume along with 2-3 professional references. SIGNIFICANT LEGAL EXERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
