Position Overview

The Maintenance Manager's role is to optimize the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overall equipment effectiveness of production machinery and tools. To maintain the building, facilities and equipment in a manner that ensures fitness for use. To participate in the development and enhancement of production equipment and processes. To ensure that equipment and facilities meet expectations for safety. Working hours of 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

Day to day supervision and direction of 12 or more Millwrights, Machinists and Tool & Die Makers including promoting a customer service environment, keeping time records, assigning tasks and priorities and maintaining records of work performed.

Leading the development and implementation of preventive / predictive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities. Acting as liaison between production, sales and engineering when breakdowns or process issues affect product quality or delivery capability.

Participate in troubleshooting process and equipment problems.

Manage spare and critical parts inventories and work towards standardization where possible.

Managing external machining service customer relationships through timely quotes, technical support, invoicing and other services as necessary.

Maintenance of building mechanical and infrastructure systems and related inspections.

Actively participate in Plant Safety Meetings to ensure safety related repairs and work orders receive appropriate priority.

Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives including C.I. Team support.

Requirements Journeyman Certification and/or Engineering Technologist degree.

Minimum 3-5 years leadership experience in the maintenance department of a high volume manufacturing facility.

Hands on knowledge and experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and PLC controlled production machinery.

Experience developing and implementing effective preventive / predictive maintenance or TPM programs.

Effective leadership and performance management skills including the ability to motivate others to achieve objectives.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.

Capable of managing multiple projects and objectives and prioritizing business needs.

Effective computer skills including knowledge of MS Office programs.

Desired qualifications include:

Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.

Experience managing parts inventories.
