We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse - RN whose compassion, clinical expertise, and excellence are top priority. Frye Regional Medical Center was named a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers by demonstrating that its stroke care program follows national standards and guidelines that can significantly improve outcomes for stroke patients.

The Joint Commission’s Primary Stroke Center Certification is based on the recommendations for primary stroke centers published by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association’s statements and guidelines for stroke care.




Duties of the RN maybe include the following but not limited to:

Assess patient''s status, analyze and interpret information for intervention
*
Work with physicians to facilitate quality patient care.
*
Confers with Nursing Supervisors / Director as it relates to patient care outcomes
*
Interacts on a continuous basis with other departments by directing activities towards positive outcomes
*
Establishes delivery system and utilize nursing process.
*
Follows policies, procedures, standards for hospital.
Unit-specific responsibilities

*
Monitors neurological, cardiac and medical patients status and implements and carries out treatment plans.
*
Manages long term trached mechanically ventilated patients and is proficient in airway management for the step-down patient.
*
Proficient in management of neurologically impaired/compromised patients.
*
Knowledgeable and proficient in caring for Epilepsy Monitoring Unit patients.
*
Ability to monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately.


This posting is for one (1) full-time position working 7A - 7P in the Neuroprogressive Care unit.



* Current RN licensure by the state of North Carolina.
* Current CPR certification.
* Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
* Current ACLS preferred.
