Southwestern College needs some help, and I thought I would turn to the folks who care most about this place---the folks in this area of New Mexico, who may know about our VERY wonderful Counseling Center and our Spiritually-Informed education of Masters level Counselors and Art Therapists... Our Development person recently left the school, and we are re-thinking and re-structuring how all of the functions he covered will be covered. Many of them were not really “Development” functions, and those are taken care of. I really need to find folks who can do grant writing, who know the resources, know how to research opportunities, locate granting foundations and sources, who can match our strengths and needs with the opportunities out there in the world, people who have a track record or some indication that they know this area… Clearly, I would love to find volunteers, and of course we are open to a part time position, commission, salary, hourly—we are open. In the past we have accessed very few granting institutions, and I am honestly a little wearied by hearing people in the field bemoan how many non-profits are “competing” for limited funds—I would prefer to work with folks who have the positive attitude and energy to magnetize and manifest the resources we need to grow ourselves to the next level and iteration of who we are meant to become…In the research I have done, I know that the resources exist out there, and I know we can bring them in….We need the right person(s), the right energy, the right attitudes, the belief that we can and will make it happen… So if you ARE somebody or KNOW somebody who has the experience, time, commitment to transforming Consciousness (because ultimately, that is all this is really about, you know...) please have them contact me at docwahoo@yahoo.com, preferably with a letter, resume, the usual stuff… Thanks from my heart. This is a huge time for us, and a pivotal, transformational (in the true and the mundane sense) and I am really calling this one in, and asking you all to help me do that too. We are making great strides in re-defining how we provide experiential education and transform Consciousness (as you may know from our community newsletter, Heartlink). With the new certificate programs, the move toward Distance Learning offerings, we are ready to run with the big Consciousness dogs and increase our visibility and our contribution to in the world.
