Heiss Heaters has come a long way in the past ten years.  In the beginning, we were using standard grout cement and tubing to build a firebox.  These units worked great until one day a customer left their heater’s door open and the unit overheated causing cracking and damage.  In response, we created a better heater.

We now use high heat refractory cement that utilizes a quartz material which is dense and heat conductive. The finished product is composed of this material with stainless steel needles, fencing, rebar and special fibers.  Cracking is no longer an issue.  Other improvements include:

·        High limit switch

·        Flow sensor

·        Automatic air bleeder

·        Insulated door

·        Improved blowers

A high limit switch prevents over heating. If the aquastat, a control which keeps the water temperature consistent, fails, the high limit switch will shut the blower off thus smothering the fire. A Flow sensor shuts the blower off in the event of no water flow. An automatic air bleeder eliminates any air pockets within the system. Air pockets create restricted water flow which decreases efficiency. The insulated door has a tongue and groove door seal to prevent the seal from coming off. This also keeps smoke and gasses from escaping. By upgrading the blowers the cubic feet per minute (CFM) has doubled, and the exhaust flow is improved. This makes it easier to clean out our baffled system.  These improvements have greatly increased the quality and longevity of our products.
