Respond to this AdDrum Players + Bass Players + Guitar Players Needed For Late Night Fusion Practices
>>> THIS IS THE SHORT STORY.
I host late-night practice jams every Fri and Sat and Sun, starting at 9:30pm, at my practice space at 763 Waverly Street in Framingham, MA.
I play keyboard and schedule 1 drummer and 1 bassist (and sometimes 1 guitarist) for each night, and then we all play for about 3 hours or so.
We try to play mostly originals-- Fusion, Jam Band, New Age, Progressive Rock, Funk, Ambient, Ad-Hoc, plus whatever else is good and fun.
>>> THIS IS THE LONG STORY.
The primary goal of these sessions is to help us become better musicians through the process of making good live music.
The secondary goal is to form some bands that can gig about 2 times per month, playing late-night shows at local venues, for fun and adventure.
The tertiary goal is to create some basic recordings, for review and to serve as simple demos to help land gigs, find players, etc.
I am 47 years old, I am an OK keyboard player, I have a decent practice space nicely equipped, and I seek musicians who want to play and improve their art.
This session itself is not a gig and there is no pay-- this is for the music itself.
Only 1 drummer and 1 bassist (and sometimes 1 guitarist) gets scheduled and each plays the whole night.
This is NOT an open-mic where each person gets just a small time slice.
We try to play as a quartet (d + b + k + g) but if we cannot get a guitarist then we play as a trio (d + b + k).
Come once or come often-- please, just show up when you say you will, play nice, and that's all there is to it.
You can be any kind of player, as long as you can hold a decent groove and you like the style of at least a few of the artists mentioned below.
This is an on-going open jam, so players may change, and it works well-- BUT if any players want to be "regulars" and form "bands" then that is great and I am up for it.
Active-style-players and out-in-front-players are very welcome and encouraged; but, please be ready to share some of the lead-space with others.
Ages 18 and up are welcome, as long as you can play.
If we play covers, then we may not "play the melody note-for-note", but instead we may "hint at the melody and solo over the changes", or we may just jam on part of song.
We can play what you want-- bring lead sheets or just play what is in your head-- as long as it fits into the "fusion" genre in some way then we can try it.
Your can bring others-- but we have a maximum of 1 drum player and 1 bass bass player and 1 guitar player at each session-- and we have me on keyboard each session too.

For Bass players, we have a bass-amp; so, you just need to bring your bass.
For Drum players, we have a drum-kit; so, you just need to bring your sticks and snare.
For Guitar players, we have a guitar-amp; so, you just need to bring your guitar.
