Up for sale is an Ibanez Concord 699s 6 string acoustic guitar from 1977 in great condition for it's age. I am the original owner of this beautiful guitar. I played for awhile then after a few years I gave it to my son & now after many years it has found it's way back to me. Since I no longer play guitar I am hoping to find someone that will appreciate it as much as I did.
This Ibanez has a split maple back with a centered inlay, maple sides, a 3 piece figured dove tail maple neck and a solid spruce book matched top (hence the S after 699). The neck is straight, the fretboard is clean, the frets are in great shape and the action is low. This guitar has a great tone and excellent playability. There is a slight sign of a repaired crack on the upper side of the body where the side of the body meets the spruce top along the binding edge. This small crack was professionally repaired by a local guitar luthier who was directly involved and worked on the first ten Randy Rhoads off set Flying V guitars for the Jackson Charvel company in San Dimas, California. The sound and playability has not been compromised in any way whatsoever as a result of the repair.
The serial number reads K771826 which means that it was originally produced in November of 1977 and was the 1,826 guitar produced at the Ibanez guitar factory in Japan. The guitar also comes with the original case that was manufactured in Japan by the Toyo Gakki instrument company. The case does have a loose wall in the compartment area. The guitar and case have minor scratches, dings and stains that are typical for an amazing 35 year old instrument such as this one. You won't be disappointed.
