Production and Logistics Coordinator - Kamloops - Job ID 1531
Position Overview
In the role of Production and Logistics Coordinator, the position reports to the Plant Superintendent and functions internally as a team member in co-ordination with Production, Sales and Administration personnel.
External relationships include raw material suppliers, both inbound and outbound transportation carriers and ISO Registrar/Auditors. In the role of Management System Representative, reporting is to the General Manager.
Primary Purpose:
1.Schedule plant production
2.Coordinate raw material orders and transportation
3.Plan, maintain and control raw material, work in progress and finished goods inventories
Responsibilities
1.Schedule plant production including determination of production requirements by size.
2.Determine and prepare raw material orders and control raw material supply to maintain bar stock availability consistent with organization inventory targets, the production loading plan and plant requirements.
3.Control and prepare all documentation required for finished goods and by-products shipments from the plant, consistent with sales plan.
4.Negotiate and control inbound rail and truck carrier agreements including monitoring of freight rates, carrier insurance and preparation of purchase requisitions.
5.Co-ordinate transportation for all inbound raw material shipments including required customs documentation and periodic customs requirements.
6.Record and analyze production, plant efficiencies and related production data. Maintain production records and produce required reports on a daily, monthly and annual basis or as required.
7.Prepare month end production summary and associated document to Administration Department by mid morning of 1st weekday of month following or as required.
8.Co-ordinate and participate in periodic physical inventory counts; reconcile physical inventory results to perpetual records and analyze variances. Counts required for financial reporting will be co-ordinated by the Administration Department.
9.Coordinate production planning, raw material orders, inventory levels and other activities as required with the Customer Service Representative.
10.Act as a backup person to the Customer Service Representative as part of a team backing up that position in absence situations.
11.Assist the Plant Superintendent and other departments as necessary or as required.
12.Understand and fulfil roles and responsibilities within Moly-Cop Canada’s QMS, EMS, OHS systems. Ensure documentation within these systems related to this job function is current.
13.Fulfill the role and responsibilities of a Management Representative to:
•Ensure that the EMS, OHS and QMS system requirements are established and maintained in accordance with the International Standard or specification
•Report on the performance of the management systems (EMS, OHS and QMS) to Management for review and as a basis for improvement of the management systems.
Requirements
Knowledge & Experience:
Post secondary diploma or bachelor degree in an area associated with position. Minimum of 3 years experience in production planning or complex inventory management. Membership or certification in a related discipline is desirable (i.e. CPIM - Certified Production and Inventory Management).
High level of proficiency in MS Word and Excel is required; MS Access is desirable. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing including ability to express concepts, ask questions, and make presentations in a tactful and professional manner.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
$60,000-$70,000/year plus benefits.
