The Barge Engineer is responsible for keeping the rig’s engines in supreme working order.  Duties include the performance of vessel logistics, deck and hull maintenance/repair, equipment inspections and emergency preparedness training.

The Barge Engineer is also responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities and coordinating communications with work boat and helicopter operations.

Further duties include the training of Ballast Control Operators, Crane Operators, Assistant Barge Engineers and crew members.
