We currently have an opening for a Part-Time Temporary Digital Fabrication Technician who will provide training, orientation and instruction to users and lab monitors in the safe use of digital fabrication equipment. The shop uses technical equipment for computer-based model making including laser cutter, CNC Mill and 3-D plotter. Hire and provide supervision and training of student lab monitors in designated areas of responsibility to assure the highest standards of safety and in support of students and other users of the facilities, ensuring adherence to policies. Manage schedule of equipment use and schedule monitors to provide coverage as necessary. Provide preventative and routine maintenance/cleaning to ensure appropriate levels of functionality and cleanliness. Schedule repairs and non-routine maintenance of digital fabrication equipment with outside vendors as needed. EOE/M/F/D/V Required Skills / Qualifications: - Demonstrated knowledge of digital fabrication equipment and their associated control systems is required. - Minimum of 2 years operating or maintaining digital fabrication equipment. - Minimum of 2 years of college or technical school and experience in an architectural or engineering environment preferred.
