These little guys are so fun. Born July 24, 2012, they entertainment me all day. Their Mother, Charlotte, is about 15 inches at the top of the shoulder and Dad, Wilbur, is about 18". The babies are about 7 inches to the top of the shoulder. They enjoy a small shelter, but keep it very clean. They are much cleaner than dogs. They do like to get muddy when it rains. It dries on them and falls off. I fill the floor of their pen, under the carport with hay and their mom teaches them to root in the hay.
They eat mini pig pellets, which has less fat in it than food for large pigs. The goal there is to get them fat. Not so with micro mini pigs. They eat about a cup of pellets each time you fed them (depending on whether they run out in the grass and forage).
Their defense is to squeel loudly when you pick them up. The more often you pick them up when they are small, the less they will squeel. Once you catch them, they like to be held and rub ther head and ears and will go to sleep in your arms. They like me to rock them in my rocking chair while I watch TV.
When they grow up, they will be too heavy to pick up, but they learn routines. Some people teach them to walk on a leach. They come when I call because they know I will have food. I teach them that I only feed them in their pen because I don't like begging animals.
The people that have bought them thus far are raising them in their home and they have bonded well with their human mom and dads. The piglets nuzzle and jump into their laps and have been very successful in potty training.
I have reduced the price to $250, because I only have little males left. I plan on neuturing some of them in case someone prefers that.
