I have been working on this Bronco for 6 years. I am now 45 and am getting a little too old to hall my fat butt up into it. I would consider it 90% done. A few things that it needs to make it yours are: A stereo system, a bigger gas tank: (has one 12 gallon stock tank in it now) and a few details to the stainless steel dash.
This is what I have done. I started out with a frame off paint job and a trip to a body shop to make sure the frame was straight. It has a 2 inch body lift with a Rancho 6 inch suspension lift. It has the adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks. Custom roll pan in the back to hide the gas tank. It has custom front and rear bumpers. Tow package with adjustable billet drop receiver . Front bumpers are fiberglass with rest of vehicle stock steel (although rear fender flares are glassed in to match front flair style). There is little to no rust on this one and only rust to speak of is at bottom front windshield frame where it attaches to the dash. This has a 77 front end with disc brakes. Rear brakes are drum. All brakes, calipers, wheel cylinders and master cylinder, drums, and rotors have been replaced. Has power steering out of a 1977. This is equipped with a automatic C-4 tranny with a custom tranny pan. Engine is a 302 with a mild cam, has a nice lope. Engine has been rebuilt with approximately 3,000 miles. This is all the miles I have put on it since I have owned it. Original miles unknown. This has MSD ignition and is fuel injected with a 5.0 intake. Electric Fuel pump is external and brand new. For 4 wheeling the fuel injection has been a dream! Has K&N air induction snorkel system. Has headers with duel exhaust Flow masters. New radiator and fan and all new belts. Optima gel battery with custom billet aluminum tray. Has a nice six point powder coated family roll cage. Dash is stainless steel and fits a nice digital gauge that replaced the O.E. gauge. Paint job on this truck is a one of a kind and has matching leather seats. 4x4 works great and has manual new detroit lockers on front and back. Tires have 2500 miles on them and are the BFG Rock Crawlers (can go down to 5 pound psi), 35x13.50x15, with custom chrome wheels. Has a nice custom aluminum step up bars. Steering column is out of a GM. Comes with a nice custom black soft top. I have a red hard top and if there is any rust to speak of it is found on the under side of hard top which is not in perfect condition. I have all the old parts and many others that I never put on as well as all rubber gaskets and rubber seal kit. Ran out of money, gas and time. I just bought a 2008 4 door Jeep wrangler. My wife says I can only have one toy! Love my new Jeep but when it comes to four wheeling it does not even compare! I love my Bronco, there is never a trip to the desert, work or just a trip to the grocery store that I don't get compliments or gawking stairs. It is perfect as a daily driver but with the lift and size of tires, I don't take it on the freeway. I like the surface street speeds. Money invested in this project is well over $30,0000.
