Summary
As a Senior Federal Sales Engineer, the individual will be responsible for driving a network technology driven pre-sales process, providing technical support, product demonstrations and information to Federal Government prospects, customers, and partners. The Senior Sales Engineer will also support the network design and architecture process in conjunction with the company's Engagement Management and Professional Services Team.
The candidate will need to interface with key network engineering and operations staff, buyers and management within federal agencies, entities and partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background, be an SME on the product set, have excellent technical presentation skills, and understand how to support a complex, technical sale. The Senior Sales Engineer is the trusted advisor to our federal end users and partners.
The ideal candidate for this position:
Questions
1) Do you have a strong network system administration experience and is very familiar with IP protocol, DNS, ISC BIND, MS DNS, and DHCP?
- Strong understanding and experience configuring LINUX, UNIX and Microsoft Server operating systems
2) Do you have extensive experience with Layer 2/3 hardware
- Basic scripting capabilities (Perl, shell) are a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3) Do you have 7+ years networking experience working with/for federal government entities?
4) Are you a US Citizen?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical pre-sales support
- Deliver on-site technical and WebEx presentations
- Function as the key technical resource in the development of network design, architecture, and cost models to support quotations and engineering changes
- Provide technical design assistance in product applications
- Provide technical and product information at trade shows, seminars and speaking engagements as needed
- Review the impact of new product releases and competition with sales team
- Provide critical feedback to Product Management and Engineering Teams
5) Do you have experience Identifying new business opportunities within federal prospect base
- Assist in responding to proposals and RFPs?
- Comfortable presenting product to key decision makers at the executive level
- Effective at quickly understand technology and explain it in non-technical terms
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Willing to travel
Desirable Skills:
- Do you have a Security Clearance?
- Demonstrated success working with DOD, Civilian and IC agencies
- Experience supporting JTIC and Common Criteria certification testing
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem solving skills
- Disciplined and self-motivated
- Detail oriented, team player
- Post secondary or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 8-10+ years networking experience or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills and strong business acumen.
- Ability to initiate and manage several projects simultaneously
- Experienced in working effectively in a very fast paced work environment
