The Role
This is a position within the GeoIT team reporting to the Data Management Lead. Main responsibilities are loading all subsurface data (particularly, but not exclusively seismic and well data) and preliminary quality control thereof. It will also involve assisting the Data Manager in management and administration of all incoming and outgoing data and liaising with the Information Management.
Loading data (predominantly seismic and well) to relevant project/corporate databases
Preliminary QC of all loaded data before sharing with the asset teams for their detailed QC and acceptance
Development, documentation and continuous improvement of all data loading workflows
Liaising with the Information Management department for archival of incoming data
Preparing copies of raw/processed data as and when required
Work closely with the assets to figure out the data gaps and make provision to load the data into CDS.
Well data administration.
Seismic data administration including identification and extraction of seismic metadata to be loaded in CDS; Perform basic checks on navigation, velocity and SEGY data to ensure it meets criteria for transfer to the master data store
The Person
Master’s degree in Geophysics/Geology, having 2 to 5 years of experience
Good understanding and experience in UNIX/LINUX and Windows operating systems
Knowledge of oil industry data standards and formats, with knowledge of Geotechnical application.
Prior experience in workstation data loading
Should have sound understanding of geodetic and co-ordinate reference systems.
Proficiency in SIS Geotechnical application is desirable.
Should be conversant with GIS
Good communication skills
