Venice, CA 90291 Who should come - Anyone who wants low impact exercise/weight loss (laughter burns ten times more calories than running); anyone who wants to relieve stress; anyone who wants to improve his or her mood or focus (ADD/ADHD); anyone interested in wellness. Why - The concept of Laughter Yoga is the brain child of Dr. Madan Kataria, a physician from India. Laughter Yoga combines simple laughter exercises (simulated laughter) and gentle yoga breathing, which turns into real laughter when practiced in a group. Details - Craig Cornell, a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader*, will lead a 45 minute laughter yoga session on the beach. Please bring a beach towel (we will stand, sit and lay down), plenty of water and leave your inhibitions at home! Laughter yoga is all about fun, letting go and wellness. This is not about humor or jokes. We use laughter exercises that anyone can do to achieve a sound mind and body. *Trained at the American School of Laughter Yoga in the techniques of laughter based on Hasya Yoga (yogic laughter) as initiated and taught by Dr. Mada Kataria, MD and his wife, Madhuri Kataria.
