Want to learn more about Global Trade and International Business?

Apply for an internship today! Simply send an email to imexshowroom@yahoo.com with your contact info, resume, and list three main things that you hope to accomplish or learn during your internship; your time requirements and expectations; and your dates of availability. Paid and non paid Internships are available depending on experience.
IMEX Import Export Showroom is currently accepting applications for internships for summer and fall 2008. 3 month and 6 month internships now available.

Our interns are given a tremendous opportunity to learn about the global trade community and specifics of international trade--as well as practical office skills, event/project management, networking, and professional interaction. Students with a demonstrated interest in international trade are strongly preferred. Schedules are flexible but should be a minimum of 20 hours per week.
To apply for an internship at IMEX IMPORT EXPORT SHOWROOM: Serious applicants should submit a cover letter and resume to IMEXSHOWROOM@YAHOO.COM. Cover letters should be the body of an email, and should state the three main things that you hope to accomplish or learn during your internship; your time requirements (example: 9am-1pm) and expectations; and your dates of availability ( Mon-Fri from June1-Aug 31). Resumes should be cut and pasted into the body of an email, or sent as a Microsoft Word document, PDF attachment, or mailed as hard copy to 2131 South Tenth St. San Jose, Ca. 95112. Resumes without cover letters will not be considered. A cover letter can be an email attachment or in the body of the email, but must cover the information in the prior paragraph. Preferred: Send cover letter and resume via email to: imexshowroom@yahoo.com. With the subject line: Internship Application (or similar).
Details on internship duties: As an educator, the Executive Director ensures that each intern learns from a variety of experiences and exposure during their time at IMEX IMPORT EXPORT SHOWROOM. A formal training program ensures that interns hit the ground running upon arrival, and they are given limitless opportunity to contribute, show initiative, and demonstrate responsibility.

Intern duties include, but are not limited to:

Engaging in real world import export research analysis based on your choice of related subjects.

Planning, preparation and participation in IMEX events

Contributing to the content, design, production and distribution of e-newsletter.

General office duties such as answering phones, filing, etc., as assigned.

In addition, each student will be given the opportunity to work on a project(s) that is unique to his or her own personal or academic interests. This project(s) is discussed and agreed upon with the Executive Director, and is completed during the internship.
Formal introduction to leadership training is also a part of the IMEX IMPORT EXPORT INTERN PROGRAM. The Director works hard to make sure each intern feels that they are a valuable part of the IMEX team and are making significant contributions to the organization as we build a dynamic global trading enterprise, stimulate an ongoing trade dialogue, and have some fun along the way!
