Title: IT Technician
Report to: IT Manager (Chicago)
Victory Education Partners IT Technician will provide technological support to Victory Schools and Corporate office. The technician will be an excellent project manager who is able to see projects through from start to finish. This position reports to the IT Manager for Chicago. The position will require regular travel between Victory-supported schools.
Responsibilities of the Onsite IT Technician will include:
Troubleshooting & Maintaining -
§ Cisco firewalls, routers and switches
§ Uninterruptible power supplies and monitoring
§ Antivirus, content filtering, and perimeter defense appliances
§ Windows 2003 & 2008 servers
§ Windows 7 & XP workstations and laptops
§ Wireless deployment, security (WPA) and wireless troubleshooting
§ Scripting, active directory management and automation through group policy
§ Microsoft Exchange Email server 2010 & Outlook client configuration
§ Email spam prevention and software management
§ Microsoft Office 2010/2007 software products
§ Deployment of updates, patches, and software to devices via group policy and imaging software
§ Remote management and support
§ Standalone and networked printers & peripheral devices
§ Telephone systems & remote support of associated infrastructure
General Duties –
§ Work closely with the Chicago IT Manager and CTO
§ Assist with IT support for Victory Corporate offices and partnered schools
§ Assist in creating and maintaining network infrastructure for the Victory office and partner schools and improve general and intra-connectivity
§ Coordinate software, hardware and other IT related needs of the schools and the Victory Corporate Offices
§ Achieve targets and goals set for the implementation of projects by the IT Manager
§ Interact and coordinate with 3rd party vendors and technical support groups as necessary.
§ Implement proper documentation management for technology devices, as well as create and maintain detailed inventories of technology across Victory’s partners.
§ Provide courteous & effective technology support services while in compliance with agreed upon standards and procedures.
§ Complete long-term objectives without neglecting daily duties and immediate problems.
§ Take support calls and record/close helpdesk tickets from Victory and school staff on technology problems and escalate them as necessary.
§ Interact with vendors to ensure that hardware/software shipped to the school arrives on time, follow-up and manage deployment and configuration of said hardware/software as necessary.
§ Any other daily IT duties involving support, maintenance and reporting as required by the IT Manager.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position
