Job Summary
Position develops and designs complex, integrated systems and enhancements in designated programming languages and database environment.
Ensures systems and enhancements are fully compliant with requirements through appropriate unit and system / integration testing.
Develops web and server based systems / applications and integration of multiple databases and information systems.
Ensures functional and technical design meets business requirements.
Ensures appropriate, accurate, up-to-date technical documentation is available for systems and logic behind data structures.
Assists and supports testers with development and execution of test plans.
Mentors developers in creating user and technical documentation.
Works with the network staff and user community to successfully implement new systems. Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements
BA / BS in computer science or liberal arts with at 10+ years of full life cycle software development project experience (SDLC); or equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Traditional and agile software development project methodologies experience, team development and technical mentoring experience of developers is required.
Technical expertise with building RIA's with Flex 2 and Flex 3 (SDK and FlexBuilder IDE), Flex Component design and development (MXML, ActionScript), Flex Debugger and Profiler. WebORB, Cairngorm Flex application framework, and extensive experience with SQL (TSQL, data modeling, stored procedure creation, query optimization), SQL Server, Web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, DOM), application GUI design (web and client/server), data and content layout, form and screen design.
Additional technical experience with .NET, (VB.NET, C#, ADO.NET, VisualStudio IDE), source control (Subversion and VSS) required. Project and task estimation, Java, JSP JDBC preferred. Excellent customer service, oral and written communication, and problem solving skills are essential. Ability to work on multiple assignments in a team environment and flexibility in activities is imperative. Strong understanding of project management concepts. Ability to identify and present technical solutions for business problems is critical.
