BIOINFORMATICS SPECIALIST/PROGRAMMER - Washington and Lee University Biology Department is accepting applications to fill an NSF funded position to analyze next-generation sequencing data. The project goals are to create reference databases of spider genes and profile expression levels in various spider tissues. Tasks will include data management, de novo sequence assembly, gene annotation, and expression profiling. Experience with Unix and at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Perl, or R) is essential. A bachelor's of science in computer science, biology, or related field is required.
