The Sr. Programmer Analyst will assist business partners with problem analysis, resolution and general support for the Merchandising Systems Suite of applications. He/She will work with all areas of Information Technology to enhance and support a broad range of production systems. He/She will work with others to ensure service levels are met, provide evaluations and solutions on business or technical issues, manage and perform activities to restore system functionality, field questions or requests for advice, and assure resolution and recovery activities occur in a timely and effective manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides ongoing support and troubleshooting of all production issues - utilizing Unix/Oracle primarily, Pro C, and Java
Responsible for root cause analysis, permanent problem resolution, resolution documentation, and problem ticket closure
Participate in rotational on-call responsibility
Lead responsibilities for the design, build, test, and implementation of enhancements
Mentor junior team members
QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience analyzing, designing, coding, testing, installing and maintaining complex software programs within ERP (enterprise) systems, preferably Oracle Retail (Retek)
Three years experience working in a Unix/Oracle environment using PL/SQL, Pro C, and Korn Shell (ksh). JAVA, .NET, and/or C# programming a plus
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Experience working as a team player on a diverse team (including offshore teams and third party vendors a plus) as well as an independent performer
Effective communication and leadership skills in working with technical and non-technical people, management and staff
Ability to write technical specifications develops, tests, and manages the transition of modifications through the quality assurance and change control process
