Nordstrom is one of the nation´s leading fashion retailers. Our Information Technologies division works in partnership with other areas of the Company to develop and support the business systems used throughout Nordstrom. This position reports to directly to a Quality Assurance Program Manager. This position also requires working closely with Architects, team members, Project Managers and Business on Architecture, requirements, standards, process and testing methodology in close collaboration with the development teams. It requires a motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to deliver high-quality software solutions under tight deadlines. RESPONSIBILITIES: Minimum of 7 years of experience working with and developing in Test Plans, Test Scripts Minimum of 7 years experience in testing client-server, UNIX, AS400, and /or web applications Reviews architecture and other project deliverables for selection of the best testing approach - manual or automated Working knowledge of developing, testing, and supporting test code Assist in trouble-shooting, documenting software product enhancements and defects during testing Highly motivated and self-directed, problem-solver, technical troubleshooting, negotiating, decision-making skills and multi-tasking skills Adapts in fast changing work environment to work on multiple time-critical issues Ability to develop SQL database queries Able to design processes, templates, and department guidelines to deliver high quality products QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient in Mercury´s tool suite (Test Director/Quality Center, WinRunner, QuickTestPro, LoadRunner) Experience with HTML, IIS/ASP and SQL Server required, experience with other web development technologies (e.g.: .NET, Java, Oracle, C/C++, perl) is a plus Experience in the Retail industry is a plus Please note: this is a contract to hire opportunity The above information on this definition has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
