Job Description: Provide primary support for Enterprise IBM DB2 Databases. Responsibilities encompass multiple versions of IBM DB2 and will include installation, updates/patches/upgrades, tuning, backups, security, user management and resource management. The DBA will work closely with the AIX , Windows & Linux system administration team as well as the Systems/Network/Application teams to effectively coordinate Data Base activities. The DBA will take a leadership role in the architecture, implementation and support of all Data Bases enterprise wide. Job responsibilities: Maintain relationship with appropriate 3rd party support regarding technical and licensing issues. Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of all databases. Participate in a 24x7x365 support team. A responsibility of being a member of the team is cross training other team members in basic Data Base functions that they may need to cover for you. Review, approve, apply and test patches, changes and/or modifications to application database file definitions and schemas. Work with the systems administrators to maintain server and client applications and patches in all server environments. Develop, document and maintain procedures for patch loads, data backups, restores, performance tuning and configurations.
EOE/M/F/D/V QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or equivalent documented work experience. Minimum 5 years professional Information Technology experience. At least 3 years working in a large a high demand, service oriented environment. Minimum 3 years as an Database Administrator. Knowledge of database design fundamentals. Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are needed. Ability to operate and communicate effectively while under pressure is essential. Ability to work with customers to define needs, coordinate development and provide training. A team player that can effectively work with other network/systems teams as well as participate on project teams as required. Good technical writing skills. Experience with Oracle, SAP and MSSQL a plus.
