ACCOUNTABLE TO: Technology Coordinator
SUMMARY OF WORK: Position is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the instructional computing labs (Lab Manager), assists the Technology Coordinator with faculty and staff computing and telecommunication issues.
JOB CHARACTERISTICS:
Nature of Work: This position performs technical duties in the smooth operation of technology components for the campus. Incumbents must pay attention to detail and timeliness of activities to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks. Position works in doors and may do lifting of computers and computer related hardware. Must be able to trouble shoot problems and establish good public relations with staff, faculty, and the community.
Personal Contacts: Daily contact with faculty, co-workers, and students.
Supervision Received: Position makes out daily schedule and has it approved by the Technology Coordinator. Receives instructions on a daily basis.
Supervision Exercised: Assists with supervision of Intern and work-study students.
Essential Functions: Position requires ability to: communicate orally and in writing; visually demonstrate and inspect equipment; prioritize work; operate a computer and related equipment; troubleshoot computer and network problems; train faculty and staff in use of technology; maintain inventory; install and maintain technological equipment and software.
AREAS OF JOB ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE:
Faculty/Staff Computing:
- LAN (Local Area Network) manager assistant.
- Provides assistance in the use of LAN hardware and software. A/V:
- Assists with all A/V equipment including TV's, VCR's, projectors, overheads, and sound equipment.
Other:
- Helps maintain inventory of all technology hardware/software with business office.
Performs other related duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge: This position requires basic knowledge of set-up, repair, and maintenance of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of local area network set-up and maintenance. Incumbent must have knowledge of the Internet, A/V equipment, and Fiber and Wireless Networks.
Skills: This position requires skills in set-up and maintenance of computer and technological systems. Incumbent needs to possess skills that effectuated the training of employees in the use of technology based equipment.
Abilities: This position requires the ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing; follow verbal and written instructions; establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS:

The above knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- A two year degree in microcomputer support technology or related computer field preferred or equivalent experience. - One or more years experience with computer hardware and software installation, networking, and maintenance preferred. Application packet must include:
