Our Information Technologies division works in partnership with other areas of the Company to develop and support the business systems used throughout Nordstrom. This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in a key role on a diverse & innovative team. As a member of Nordstrom Store Systems Production Support Team, you'll lead cross functional teams on mission-critical technical infrastructure projects and tasks. You'll be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the technical infrastructure of critical Store Systems by providing project management and coordination across the IT department and business to ensure the underlying infrastructure is stable through upgrades and changes required for maintenance, support and new development. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for ongoing maintenance of Store Systems´ technical infrastructure and single point of contact to other Information Technology Services teams Partner with business analysts to develop plans and estimates for technical solutions, leveraging Nordstrom´s enterprise application framework and tools Accountable for timely, complete and cost-effective delivery of projects, maintenance and deployment activities Assist in developing and maintaining work plans, estimates, and schedules for multiple concurrent technical upgrades, break-fix, and maintenance projects Maintain Store Systems technology infrastructure Book of Work Create and maintain capacity management plan for Store Systems Communicate status of initiatives, risks and impacts to key stakeholders (business and IT partners) on a regular basis Maintain awareness of issues and risks in Store Systems technical infrastructure, communicate business impact and develop detailed mitigation plans Serve as front-line lead for multiple technical infrastructure projects and tasks Track and manage progress and scope against project work plans Manage resource allocations across work efforts to effectively prioritize resource efforts Establish and maintain resource forecasts monthly Ensure established Service Levels are maintained Participate as On-Call Manager in an on-call rotation for production support Regularly interact with both I.T. and Business project managers and leads on status, priority setting, and resource allocations, as well as department-wide efforts or policy-level decisions REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years experience in a technical project leadership role on production support projects 2+ years effective team management and supervisory skills including planning, priority setting, and managing multiple efforts concurrently Team building by coaching, motivating, and evaluating employees 5+ years progressive experience in Systems Development including analyzing, designing, coding, testing, installing, and maintaining software applications, preferably in a UNIX environment 2+ years business related experience (retail, e-commerce) Strong Software development experience such as Oracle/Unix, shell scripting, and Java Knowledge of and experience working in a formalized project management lifecycle Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to communicate with all levels of staff Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and facilitation skills Ability to work effectively in a fast moving, multi-project team Experience with the use of resource planning and time tracking software throughout the software development process Ability to understand Nordstrom's technical environment The above information on this definition has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
