Nordstrom is one of the nation's leading fashion retailers. Our Information Technologies division works in partnership with other areas of the Company to develop and support the business systems used throughout Nordstrom.
Primary responsibility of the Project Lead is to provide leadership, analysis and support of multiple data warehousing and/or BI applications. This position requires partnership and effective collaboration with developers, business analysts, project managers and leads from other teams, business partners and users to ensure successful delivery and implementation. You will meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple assignments simultaneously and have the ability to coordinate deliverables and dependencies with other groups. You will exercise leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years of progressive professional experience in building and maintaining software applications 2 years experience with Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment 2 years proven effective people, team, and development project management skills including: Leveraging formal project management tools and techniques throughout the entire systems development life cycle Effective resource utilization, collaboration & conflict resolution with employees and contractors in multiple locations Experience and / or exposure to UNIX, Oracle, PL/SQL, Performance Tuning, ETL tools (OWB), BI Tools (Microstrategy), Trillium, near real time data warehousing, Dashboard / Visualization Techniques, Affinium are a plus Business related experience in Retail is desired not mandatory
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accountability for timely, complete and cost-effective delivery of data warehouse system projects & enhancement activities Serve as front-line lead for multiple software enhancement projects with focus on delivery Ownership of Data warehousing development projects in collaboration with Project Manager & other leads in a shared resource environment which includes: Leveraging formal project management tools and techniques throughout the entire systems development life cycle. Book of Work Ownership includes but not limited planning, status reporting and managing multiple concurrent efforts across multiple business units and teams Work effort estimation including project specific planning and overall team forecasting for budgeting Manage Project specific requirements, scope, estimate and timeline expectations with IT and business Ensure that good business relationships are maintained with business partners and other IT departments to ensure success of enhancement and projects
