Requirements:

Design Electrical Systems for water plants and water treatment. Develop and implement power distribution for medium and low voltage municipal water and waste water settings.

Responsible for the design and development of project specifications, proposals & cost estimation for water/wastewater facilities, pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, and power plants.

This person will ensure that project designs are accurate and meet all applicable code requirements.

The Electrical Engineer in this position will also perform value engineering reviews, field inspections and provide analysis for any/all changes as necessary, and assist with developing estimates.

Proven experience with: detailed lighting design, power distribution, hazardous areas, medium voltage and low voltage Motor Control Centers, Switchboards, Panels, Transformer, Conduit & Wiring and grounding, single line diagram, photometric analysis, conduit & wiring sizing, schematic & PLC design, P&ID, metered pedestals and utility coordination, sizing circuit breaker & protective devices, voltage drop calculations, reviewing manufacturer’s drawings, planning & scheduling, conducting & coordinating detailed phases of engineering work for a project., modern short circuit and coordination studies, pump and fan controls, electrical protective relays and systems, CAD (Auto Cad 2007 & MEP), SKM Power Tools lighting design software, SCADA, I & C experience.
Right candidate will have 10+ years of experience and must possess strong experience and understanding of national electrical code (NEC), and Chicago Electrical Code.

Must be a responsible team player able to interface with clients and develop new as well as existing client relationships. Seek and evaluate contract bids. Role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Function in a “hands on” technical role, applications include creating the load study, power distribution, lighting, design, motor control center design, power plant control schematics, field investigations, security (fire alarm, radio, telephone, etc.)

Manage project teams ranging in size from 2 to 20 people. Oversee, mentor, and lead junior staff.

Ideal candidate will have a PE, or very motivated to get PE. Company will sponsor and pay cost of obtaining PE for candidates not already possessing the certification.
