Generally works independently and may manage the work of Associate Engineers and Technicians to accomplish the following tasks. Will be assigned to product line support teams, may assist in new product development projects. Responsible for continuous improvement in product quality, delivery, and cost. Works with Engineering, Materials, Production, Purchasing, and Supplier Quality Engineering. Estimates manufacturing costs and lead-times. Utilizes Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Techniques to analyze situations to determine best manufacturing practices and resolve issues of manufacturability.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Create and change process and product documentation to support new product development and improvements. 2. Design, conduct, and develop reports for experiments to characterize and validate new or changed manufacturing processes, and implement the changes identified cross-functionally. 3. Train assemblers in new manufacturing processes. 4. Lead Investigations to determine root cause and corrective action for assembly non-conformances. 5. Perform cost studies to determine lowest cost of manufacturing, and coordinate the implementation of these changes with suppliers. 6. Determine appropriate material packaging, de-trashing/re-use, and presentation methods for suppliers, and lean manufacturing assembly area, and coordinate the implementation of these changes. 7. Perform work break-down and takt time analysis to determine best manufacturing process break-down and layout. 8. Investigate ergonomics and cost vs. benefit of assembly equipment and benches. 9. Develop process failure modes effects and critical analysis (P-FMECA) plans for new products. 10. Justify, specify, order and coordinate the installation of tooling and equipment. 11. May train and mentor Associate Engineers and Technicians. 12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to work in a diverse team environment with a wide variety of people
Education or experience in process design, development, test, and validation � Ability to efficiently collect and analyze data
Good analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Demonstrated communication skills (written and oral)
Prior experience with training others
Ability to work independently and manage projects within area of responsibility with periodic supervision.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: BS in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering discipline
2-4 years experience as a Manufacturing, Industrial, or Process Engineer in a related industry
