Russell originates from Connecticut and became very inspired to play drums after hearing the Woodstock album as a young child.  Sharp is a caring, nurturing and patient drum instructor and his lessons will significantly benefit beginner, intermediate and advanced students regardless of their age.

After spending many years playing in the Northeast, he headed to Los Angeles where he was afforded the opportunity of taking lessons from Graham Lear (Santana's Drummer).

In addition to playing with various bands, laying down studio tracks and teaching on the West Coast, Russell has jammed with some outstanding musicians that include:

Tim Bogert, (Vanilla Fudge) Chris Pinnick, (Chicago), Chet McCracken, (Doobie Brothers), Ansley Dunbar (Journey, Frank Zappa)
and Eddie Van Halen.

With a simple and highly effective approach to teaching students of all ages and experience levels, Russ's 30+ yrs of drumming and percussion experience from studio to live shows makes him a true winner in instruction, drum style and technique.

Russell teaches many genres of music including; Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Pop-Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, Shuffles, (Double Bass Drum Hi-Speed), Funk, R&B, Jazz, Progressive Rock and Metal areas.
