An educational program on using Motions, an important part of the power of parliamentary procedure, will be given November 14, 2013 at 6:30 pm at Bossier Parish Community College, Building F, Room 203.
This free workshop will be taught by Alison Wallis, an attorney and professional parliamentarian. Alison is a Professional Registered Parliamentarian, the highest designation awarded by the National Association of Parliamentarians. She is a Certified Parliamentarian-Teacher with the American Institute of Parliamentarians. Alison is the national secretrary of the American College of Parliamentary Lawyers and is the President of the American Institute of Parliamentarians.
This workshop on Motions will cover the basics of how to make a motion properly as a member or as a presiding officer. The workshop will also discuss the intended purpose and vote necessary to adopt motions commonly used in meetings. Information on further parliamentary study will also be provided.
