Volunteers make a real difference in the lives of patients at NOPH. As a volunteer, you can participate in a number of activities, on and off the patient unit. As a volunteer, you can put your talents to use in a meaningful way. Volunteering provides a wonderful opportunity to the public to give back to the community while gaining knowledge and understanding about mental illness, a disease which will affect one in five individuals.
Volunteers can work as a group (such as a church or school group) or individually. Volunteers working on a unit must be at least 18 years old. Volunteer assistance is needed in the following areas:
- Participating in special yearly events such as our Hallaween Country Dance, Veterens Day, Thanksgiving Service,Christmas party. We also are in need of office/computer assistance, processing and organizing donated clothing, playing an instrument, spiritual activities, and fund-raising.
We would love to have groups/individuals share their special talents such as dance, art, yoga, music, skits, bible studies, gardening and singing.
The Volunteer Services Department’s goal is to make your volunteer experience as worthwhile as possible. If none of the above opportunities interest you, please let us know what you are interested in, and we will try our best to accommodate you.
