Local Hospice Offers Volunteer Training
Huntsville, Al] - Our SouthernCare Hospice Volunteers are an important part of the care that we provide. Volunteers are able to devote their time by coordinating their own schedules with the staff. There are two types of Volunteers needed: Administrative (helping staff in the office by putting together mailouts/packets, help with craft projects, etc.) or Direct Patient Care (reading to a patient, making deliveries, light housekeeping, participating in activities at nursing homes, etc.) By volunteering as little as a couple hours per month or week can provide assistance to patients and families when it is needed most. Each volunteer has their own special talents and can provide joy and support to each family in their own unique way. Being a SouthernCare Volunteer can be one of the most rewarding experiences that you will ever have. There are few times in life where you can make such an impact when it is needed most.
Volunteers are needed at this time, and we are looking for a common characteristic among Hospice Volunteers: the desire to help others. Please consider becoming a valuable part of the SouthernCare Team. We will accommodate the time schedule of the volunteer to provide the training required.
For further information or to schedule training, please contact Tammy Gasque, Volunteer Coordinator, at 256-881-2782 or 1-888-876-4024. You can also visit our website at www.southerncarehospice.com for more information on the company.
