ASSE International Exchange Student Program (ASSE) is currently looking for host families in Western PA who may consider hosting our student Katya or Martin. Katya is from Russia and she is 16 years old and arriving in the United States in August, she will b here for the 2013-14 school year. Katya is a FLEX Scholarship student and has gone thru rigorous exams and has worked extremely hard over the past 2 years on passing exams monitored by the US Dept of State. She is one of the few finalists that were chosen for the Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) and is very excited about her journey ahead and experiencing life as an American teenager.
Katya is from a small industrial city in Russia and has a passion for music & reading, her dream is to one day become a journalist. Katya is an only child and hopes she finds a family with other children so she may have host siblings.
We also have Martin from France that is also seeking a loving host family. Martin is also 16 years old and comes from a very close knit family, with one older sister. Martin is quite athletic and loves both soccer and tennis. Martin’s dream is to come to the United States to see life as an American and to learn of our culture, customs and traditions.
The students arrive from their home country shortly before school begins and return at the end of the school year or semester. ASSE students are fully insured, bring his or her own personal spending money and expect to contribute to household responsibilities, as well as being included in normal family activities and lifestyles.
