Help feed the hungry, the homeless, those suffering from addiction and most importantly our Veterans. With the current Opioid crisis in this country, those suffering from addiction, those homeless & our Veterans deserve our help, the need for a program like this is greater than ever.
I am starting a ministry program, Isaiah House of FL. for men and Zandy House of FL for women, to help with this need. This ministry will bring in councilors, business leaders and other volunteers to help our clients get back up on their feet, be productive and equip them with the life skills to not repeat their mistakes and transition back out in society. To show them we care, God loves them, Jesus died for their sins and that all lives matter, especially their life.
What will make this ministry program different than any other is we will NOT be looking to take advantage of these people, by looking at them as a paycheck, holding/keeping their money, mentally abusing them by judging them/looking down on or threatening them. Or causing them to live in fear in some cult like dominion. We want our clients to have their own money, while saving money for their future transition out of the program.
The DQ project is a program to help men & women who have aged out of foster care and have nowhere to go. We will provide shelter for them, help them finish their education and accomplish their goals. Plus give them an environment of showing them they matter, they are loved and equipping them with the life skills to become productive members of society. The US Gov’t estimates over 40% of those who age out of the foster care system become homeless and 30% die from suicide or drug overdose before age 30. This project is named after a young man, who aged out of foster care I met while volunteering at another ministry. His 2 biggest accomplishments, is his H.S. overall GPA, it went from a .7 to just over a 2.0 in 18 months, and he is currently making A honor roll. This young man, went from being on life support for 9 days, last year, to going back to H.S. to finish his senior year, make A honor roll, and working a part time job all in the matter of 8-9 months. God heals, God is love and every child, especially those in the foster care system, deserve a chance in life. The DQ today, has goals, hope, self-confidence and determination to succeed.
Although we will not turn anyone away for financial reasons solely, our clients are expected to pay rent. Clients must attend all church services, Bible studies, classes and groups. This program will be very structured. Lights out and wake up times will be enforced as well as quiet time at the houses. We will help assist our clients in obtaining any Gov't entitlement programs available to them. More importantly, we help get them off these entitlements as they graduate the program.
We will help job placement, resume building, interview skills, help with finances & budgeting correctly, life skills, classes on overcoming their addictions, anger management, one on one counseling as needed, what a real man or woman of God is and what is expected of them in society today.
We plan to open a food pantry, to have our members give back to the community and help those who need food on a weekly basis so they can eat 3 meals a day. There is no reason in the richest country in the world that any child or adult should go to bed hungry, no parent should have to determine between medicine or food, feeding their child or themselves.
All donations will be used to help with housing, clothing, food, transportation, hygiene products, diapers, maintenance, medicine, supplies our food pantry and startup costs. We estimate our annual budget operating 12-15 group/sober living houses, providing hygiene products, the rent, utilities, food, clothing, transportation and other items to meet individual needs; buying food for our food pantry, paying our staff members, will be $480,000.
As a real estate investor, I can find the houses. We need help to bring the houses up to code, have working smoke detectors in the houses, fresh paint, nice furnishings so the house feels and becomes a home. We do not want people to live in old drab, dreary, roach infested rat holes or in the hood. Part of feeling great about ourselves is feeling great about our home environment. We are more productive in the workplace and in society, when our home life and our relationships at home is good.
I have allocated over $ 180,000 of income and assets from my companies for 2018 towards this ministry. Almost $400,000 over the next ten years. But I can’t do it alone and your donation will help with all the startup costs, rehab, utilities, food, clothing, medicine, supplies until we are up and going, supporting ourselves, (I estimate by the 6th-9th month.) The first 3-4 shelters will open in Broward County, FL. (Fort Lauderdale area) due to the amount of homeless and the violence against the homeless in Broward County. With 2-3 houses to open in the Palm Beach County/ Treasure Coast area by 6/1/18.
Your gift is very much appreciated and God sees your love and mercy towards helping those in need. That is exactly why God sent His son Jesus into world to die for everyone's sins....mercy, love and so we could live eternity in Heaven with our Father.
- Isaiah 58:6-8 6"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? 7Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter- when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? 8Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
Matthew 25:34-40 34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' 37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'LORD, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 40"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
