I am looking for volunteers to participate in my research study. I am a doctoral student in the program in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the Graduate Center in City University of New York. You will be pressing buttons to certain sounds for one part of the study and will wear the cap with sensors on it using gel and watch a close captioned movie of the other part. The study will take 4-5 hours and the compensation is $10/hr.
Participants should: 1) be between 20-40 years of age; 2) have normal hearing; 3) have English, Hindi, or Tamil as their first language; 4) have no history of recurrent middle ear/neurological/learning problems. The study will examine the brain processing of sound in listeners with normal hearing and in listeners with hearing loss. Results of this study may contribute to improve the clinical management of infants, children and adults with hearing loss.
For more information about the study, or to schedule an appointment to participate, you can reach out to me via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone at 217-817-8838 (landline; leave voice message).
